California born and raised, Claudia Stanley brings Flourish with Hope to Texas! Claudia is committed, passionate, empathetic and has a great sense of humor. Claudia has received feedback describing she is calm, driven, resourceful and patient. She likes to make therapy less painful, but will get to the nitty gritty to make your time valuable. Claudia understands the investments made on your end to seek help, and wants to make sure your experience is positive and beneficial. Claudia is not your typical therapist. She will empower you and help you become self-reliant, so you become capable of creating your own solutions.
What drives Claudia’s passion?
Mixing personal and professional experiences, Claudia understands what it is like to have your sense of safety and well-being completely ripped from you. She gets that life can be challenging and messy. She knows what it’s like to experience panic, anxiety, depression, trauma and grief. Claudia also knows that with the right skill set, people are capable of overcoming obstacles and using their losses to their advantage. Claudia has been witness to transformation and truly believes that any individual can bounce back from their setbacks and develop in a vigorous way.
Claudia graduated from Cal State Long Beach with her BA in Psychology. Driven to serve a diverse population, Claudia pursued her MSW degree at Cal State Los Angeles. Claudia has been active in the social work field for over 6 years, but has been providing support and assistance since the 6th grade as a volunteer.
Post graduation, Claudia held employment servicing the foster care and adoption population, psychiatric hospitals, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, and school settings to provide mental health services.
Prior to Claudia’s work experience, she has volunteered as a mentor at a juvenile hall, worked closely with at risk families 0-5 years of age, provided service at an orphanage in Guatemala and most recently assisted patients in a hospice setting.
Claudia has received extensive training and certification that she incorporates into her sessions. Claudia is certified in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). PCIT is an evidence based model that assists in creating bonding and attachment between parent and child, while correcting behaviors. Claudia has received extensive training for Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) which is an evidence based trauma model that was created for ages 3-17, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) shown to be effective for depression and anxiety and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT); a model that is solution driven and empowers clients.
